Legal Bowfishing Competition

Postby Guardian » Wed Nov 21, 2007 10:24 pm

Just to let you know that we've been the first ever to apply for a bowfishing permit to hold a bowfishing competition.
When we took the application in to Nature Conservation, they were quite taken by surprise..... they have never heard of such a thing as bowfishing!
After explaining to them what it is and that it's actually illegal, they processed the application and we were granted the permit a few days later.
I wrote a sound motivation and there was just no reason for them to decline it. Even the exotic, introduced alian fish that we were going to help them to controll(shoot them), will be given to the locals around the venue area for their own consumption (for free).
We also invited a representative to come and monitor the shoot and will supply him with free beer for the day. He just have to bring his fine booklet, because we want to introduce him to the locals who set up those gill nets across the river and want him to arrest or fine them.
Will keep you posted what happens on Saturday.
regards,
Dirk

Sniper, going to Cape tomorrow for few days.
Will post a thread about the General vs Guardian next week.
So far I'm a bit dissapointed in the General.
But later more about it.
